The Reputation of Enrique Peña Nieto
Enrique Peña Nieto, a top contender for the coming Mexican polls, is known for more than his politics, due to his impressive countenance. Most believe that Nieto is going to win the approaching polls. The other candidates have good reason to worry about Nieto.
For all that the official campaign season has not been opened, the man's popularity is already on an upward road. Nieto is famous for his mastery of the theatrical side of the political sphere. His charisma is such that people are naturally drawn to him, and not only for his looks.
Some of the critics are prone to saying that Nieto's repute is all due to a supposed deal he made with the most influential TV network in Mexico. The allegation is that money changed hands with the result that the TV network agreed to do Nieto's campaign advertising for him. This, they allege, is the primary cause of Televisa's unceasing broadcasts of Nieto's accomplishments.
One possible cause for the allegations is the man's public relationship with a famous actress from the network. The actress is known for her prolific career in Mexican soaps and is inarguably among the most recognizable faces on Mexican TV. Nieto eventually married Rivera, some time after his previous wife passed away.
From his first marriage, Nieto has three children. Pretelini's death was caused by cardiovascular issues during Nieto's governorship. This made Nieto one of the most popular single Mexicans in the country.
There is even more to Nieto than his fame as a desired bachelor (at least, before Rivera), though. He is also known for having solicited a great many requests and made promises to fulfill them. It is in relation to this that his concern for infrastructure has been noted.
When the infrastructure stated in these compromisos were finally erected, Pena Nieto turned into massive social affairs the inauguration of multiple public works projects week after week. Peña Nieto has successfully created an image of a man who gets things done, and one who works at keeping his promises to his people. It is a point of interest to critics, though, that Nieto has spent extravagant sums just to get the media exposure for these finished infrastructure projects.
His contenders and detractors also found more reasons to criticize him because of a recent controversy that happened when he presented his book “México: La Gran Esperanza” at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. It was discovered during the fair that Nieto was not capable of remembering the names of the people who had written some of his "top" books to read. Nieto was noted to have said that he usually forgot these details, being more interested in the tome's contents.
The errors he made, though, set off a wave of critique over various channels. When one of his daughters was asked about it, she delivered a rather emotional response that may not have been wise. Even now, in spite of all the politician's efforts to stem the critics, they are still making fun of him for his alleged lack of intellectualism.
It is Enrique Peña Nieto himself who alleges that those who criticize him often do so for words that are not taken in the proper context. All the same, Nieto is still the most popular candidate for the presidency. Nieto is still considered the person with the biggest chance of winning because of his popularity with voters.
